Hip-hop heads who questioned whether it was cool to bump the remix to Justin Bieber’s “Runaway Love” with Kanye West and Raekwon shouldn’t feel embarrassed. Raekwon’s fellow Wu-Tang Clan member RZA has given the song his stamp of approval.
We asked Bobby Digital what he thought of the odd pairing at this weekend’s VMAs, and whether he would ever collaborate with a pop star like Justin Bieber. “I think it’s crazy and it’s great because the [sampled] song, ‘Wu-Tang Clan Ain’t Nuthing ta F’ Wit,’ is a hard song and to hear Justin Bieber on top of that song, it just shows that it’s like an old kung fu theory,” he explained. “It says, ‘Be hard as steel, soft as cotton.’ I think music allows us to do that. Like Bruce Lee said, ‘Be like water my friend.’”
Plus, find out about RZA’s directorial debut The Man with the Iron Fist and the major star he landed for the kung fu flick, filming in Shanghai.
